Test & Verification

Test Plans

Organise structured accessibility verification into reusable and auditable plans.

Choose how to start

AAI provides two alternative ways to create a Test Plan. Choose the route that matches the work you already have.

  • New Test Plan — start with an empty draft when you want to define the purpose, scope, Test Sections and Tests yourself.
  • Build from audit checks — select Manual Checks already generated from accessibility audit evidence and let AAI create the initial Test Plan structure, reusing canonical Test Cases where possible.
  • Both routes create a normal Test Plan. After creation you can review, edit, prepare and execute the plan in the same way.
Important

You do not need to create a blank Test Plan before choosing Build from audit checks. They are alternative starting points.

What a Test Plan is

A Test Plan describes a structured body of testing for a domain, release, user journey, component or other defined scope.

Typical structure

  • Plan purpose and scope.
  • One or more Test Suites.
  • Reusable or newly created Test Cases.
  • Targets and assignees.
  • Expected results and evidence requirements.

Plan status

Plans can move through working states such as draft, active, paused, completed and archived depending on the stage of the testing programme.
